Recall for Reddit in Chrome and Safari

Private by design

The extension only checks the active Reddit post or comment when you open it. Your Reddit OAuth tokens always remain on the Recall server.

  1. 1Open the Chrome Web Store listing and select Add to Chrome.
  2. 2Review the requested permissions and select Add extension.
  3. 3Open the Extensions menu and pin Recall for Reddit if you want it visible beside the address bar.
  4. 4Select the Recall icon and connect it to your account.

For Safari 15.4 or newer on Mac, iPhone, and iPad.

On Mac

  1. 1. Install the Recall for Reddit app from the App Store and open it once.
  2. 2. In Safari, choose Safari → Settings → Extensions.
  3. 3. Enable Recall for Reddit, then open its toolbar icon and connect your account.

On iPhone or iPad

  1. 1. Install the Recall for Reddit app from the App Store.
  2. 2. On iOS or iPadOS 18 or newer, open Settings → Apps → Safari → Extensions. On versions 15.4–17, open Settings → Safari → Extensions.
  3. 3. Select Recall for Reddit and turn on Allow Extension.
  4. 4. Open Safari, use the page menu to open Recall, and connect your account.

One-time setup

Connect the extension to Recall

Pairing gives this browser access to your private Recall library without putting Reddit credentials in the extension.

  1. Install the extension

    Use the official browser store button above once it becomes available.

  2. Open Recall

    Select the Recall icon and choose Connect with Recall.

  3. Approve the connection

    Sign in to Recall if needed, check the displayed device name, and approve it.

  4. Use Recall from Reddit

    Open the popup on a Reddit post or comment to see its library status and tags.

What the extension can access

  • • The active tab URL when you open the popup.
  • • Your Recall library through a revocable browser token.
  • • The Recall server you select in extension settings.

What it does not do

  • • It does not continuously monitor your browsing.
  • • It does not receive your Reddit access or refresh tokens.
  • • It does not send unrelated website URLs to Recall.

You can sign in and sync your saved Reddit history now. The extension will use the same private library after pairing.
