2. What Recall for Reddit does

Recall for Reddit lets you connect a Reddit account, sync saved Reddit posts and comments, organize them with tags and auto-tagging rules, search your saved library, and optionally upgrade to a premium account.

3. Data we process

Depending on how you use the service, we process the following categories of data:

  • Account data, such as your name, email address, Reddit user ID, Reddit username, account tier, and admin status where applicable.
  • Reddit connection data, including OAuth access tokens, refresh tokens, token expiry times, sync cursors, last sync timestamps, and reauthorization status.
  • Saved Reddit content you choose to sync, including post titles, comment text, authors, subreddits, Reddit IDs, Reddit URLs, external URLs, timestamps, NSFW status, and related metadata.
  • Organization data you create in the app, including tags, tag colors, tag descriptions, shared tag settings, public tag IDs, and auto-tagging rules.
  • Payment records for premium upgrades, including Stripe Checkout session IDs, payment intent IDs, amount, currency, status, and payment timestamp. We do not store full card numbers.
  • Technical data, such as IP address, browser information, request timestamps, error logs, security logs, and diagnostic information needed to operate and secure the service.

4. How we use your data

  • To authenticate you through Reddit and keep your Reddit connection active.
  • To sync, store, display, search, tag, and organize your saved Reddit posts and comments.
  • To apply auto-tagging rules and enforce free-tier limits.
  • To provide premium features, including unlimited limits and shared tags.
  • To process checkout, verify payment status, and maintain payment records.
  • To prevent abuse, debug errors, secure the service, and maintain reliable operation.
  • To comply with legal obligations and respond to lawful requests where required.

5. Legal bases

Where the GDPR applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

  • Performance of a contract, when processing is necessary to provide the Recall for Reddit service you requested.
  • Legitimate interests, including service security, abuse prevention, debugging, product reliability, and basic operational analytics.
  • Legal obligations, where we must retain or disclose information for accounting, tax, compliance, or legal reasons.
  • Consent, where a specific feature or integration requires it. You can revoke Reddit access in your Reddit account settings.

6. Reddit integration

When you connect Reddit, you authorize Recall for Reddit to access the Reddit data needed to provide the service. We use Reddit OAuth tokens to retrieve your saved posts and comments and related metadata. If authorization expires or is revoked, syncing may stop until you reconnect Reddit.

Your use of Reddit remains subject to Reddit's own terms and privacy practices. You can review Reddit's privacy information at reddit.com/policies/privacy-policy.

7. Payments through Stripe

Premium checkout is handled by Stripe. Stripe may process payment card details, billing information, fraud prevention signals, and related payment data. Recall for Reddit receives payment status and identifiers needed to activate premium and keep payment records, but does not store full payment card numbers.

Stripe's processing is governed by Stripe's own privacy terms, available at stripe.com/privacy.

8. Shared tags and public content

Premium users can mark tags as shared. A shared tag creates a public page that may display the tag name, tag description, saved Reddit item titles, comment excerpts, subreddit names, authors, Reddit links, and external URLs associated with that tag. Only enable sharing for tags whose contents you are comfortable making public.

9. Service providers and disclosure

We do not sell personal data. We share data only where necessary to operate the service, including with infrastructure providers, Reddit for account connection and API access, Stripe for payment processing, and service providers used for hosting, logging, security, backups, and email or support. We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect our rights, users, or service.

10. Retention and deletion

We keep account data, Reddit connection data, saved content, tags, and rules while your account is active or as needed to provide the service. Payment records may be retained for legal, accounting, and tax obligations. Technical logs are kept only as long as needed for security, debugging, and operations unless a longer period is required for investigation or legal reasons.

You can request deletion of your account and associated data by contacting us. Some records may be retained where required by law or where deletion would conflict with legitimate legal or security needs.

11. Security

We use technical and organizational measures designed to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, or alteration. No internet service can guarantee absolute security, but we aim to limit access to personal data to what is necessary for operation and maintenance.

12. International transfers

Some service providers, including Reddit, Stripe, hosting, or infrastructure providers, may process data outside your country or the European Economic Area. Where required, appropriate safeguards such as contractual protections are used.

13. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, portability, or objection to processing of your personal data. Where processing is based on consent, you may withdraw that consent at any time.

To exercise your rights, contact anthony.baer@baer-software.com. If you are in the EU or EEA, you may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy when the service, legal requirements, or data practices change. The current version is always available on this page.
